Quote Post

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Edison the Genius. When asked how many times he failed to make the incandescent light bulb he said ” I successfully figured out over 10,000 ways the light bulb did not work” he understood the principles of perseverance to manifest his visions, that is why he is remembered today as one of the greatest inventors of all time.
I remember and use this quote daily especially when I have days like yesterday and today when everything goes wrong and all efforts seem fruitless and going nowhere, which are all signs of getting closer to the understanding of what will make my project work right all the time and be accepted in the mainstream. Imagine if Thomas Edison was around today and working on an invention like the light bulb and had a reporter, news crews, or interested sales people, or investors standing by every time he thought he had it and it was the 5th or 10th time he was close but just not there yet because he did not have the right combination of elements to make his tungsten mono filament bulb work. It did take over 10,000 successful failures to make it work, but had it have been known that he kept trying failure after failure he would have been deemed an insane dreamer who should just move on and forget about it, or maybe even a delusional junk scientist. That is why we should never give up or go against our gut feelings, where would Edison be remembered in history had he done so?
