Hello Tumble People

Wow this is my first post since March 24th I cannot believe how fast the time flies. My tumbling posts have suffered at the obsessive focus put forth in attaining my chief aim.

A lot has been going on, I nearly lost everything I own which is not much. I sold my prized possession which was my Mustang that I brought brand new and has given me much joy over the past nine and a half years, but it went to a good home where it will make its new deserving owner just as happy as it did me.  I have been working obsessively to build a business around a product I co-developed, what a journey it has been patent pending paperwork getting money to survive and to build a company. It is amazing what you can do with determination and pocket lint, my colleagues and I have embarked on a mission to increase performance of internal combustion engines. Two years of research and development are beginning to pay off. Performance measured by  an increase in power, drastic reduction in harmful emissions and fuel consumption. I can’t wait for this product to be mainstream and mandated to be on every combustion engine on the planet moving forward. I look forward to sharing more information about the product in the near future, I am beginning to feel an overwhelming sense of satisfaction, pride and accomplishment in seeing the physical manifestation of all our efforts especially knowing it has been done with very little resources. It makes me believe more than I ever did in the power of will and determination backed by faith and purpose. Through the guidance of my mentors who have shown through the indelible marks they left on the world like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Andrew Carnegie, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Walter Russell, Napoleon Hill, Socrates, just to name a few, it is when met with the greatest opposition and the most adverse circumstances between you and your vision that you must push your Will-power to the maximum through your self discipline and reach the triumphant victory you desire. I thank all of you who have stayed on following me after this long lapse in tumbling and look forward to posting again at least weekly.

Envision Your Future

Envision you Future and bring it to you.

See it off in the distance and embrace it.

Smell its air of certainty, taste the fruits of your labor.

Hear the sounds of your anguish, fear, and exalting joy; then realize

it is all worth what you are going through.

Envision your future and bring it to you.

Bruce Lee on Adapting

“To change with change is the changeless state.”

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless like water. Now you
put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a
bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes
the teapot. Now water can flow, or it can crash! Be water, my friend.”

“Be like water making its way through the cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.”

One of my all time favorites Bruce Lee.

=========================================================

Your EQ or emotional quotient as defined by Daniel Goleman.

  1. Knowing your emotions.
  2. Managing your own emotions.
  3. Motivating yourself.
  4. Recognising and understanding other people’s emotions.
  5. Managing relationships, ie., managing the emotions of others.

Emotional Intelligence embraces and draws from numerous other branches of behavioural, emotional and communications theories, such as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Transactional Analysis, and empathy. Goleman further adds, by developing our Emotional Intelligence in these areas and the five EQ domains we can become more productive and successful at what we do, and help others to be more productive and successful too.

In this world in order to survive and cope with challenges we must readily adapt or succumb to the tides of change. Adaption is both an objective thought process and an attitude to adjust to what is naturally happening.

Watch this movie.

I have a thing for Temple Grandin. Have you heard of her? She is autistic, brilliant, and has made arguably a bigger contribution to humane handling of livestock than anyone else in our lifetimes, not to mention poking a giant hole in theories of autistic functioning.

I’ve read two of her books. They were intriguing, because she was able to describe the way her mind works in a way the reader can understand, and because she relates to animals. Her mind probably does not work like yours. It works a little like mine; that’s what I find so fascinating. I’ve always known I thought differently. My family teases me about “speaking Cary”. I just don’t think like everyone else, and it is frustrating most of the time, because people tend to have no idea what the hell I am getting at, and I often misunderstand what others are saying.

I’m the queen of “What do you mean? I don’t understand.”

I watched the Temple Grandin movie yesterday. Holy cow, could I relate to about 90% of it. It really makes me wonder. There is so much we still don’t know about brain function, neurology, neurobiology, how things are stored and processed…we have a lot of diagnoses available, but a diagnosis is like a point on a number line. It isn’t a box that people fit in. People fit on various points on an infinite number line, a section of which is deemed “normal”.

These are a lot of words to say that if you are creative or interested in brains or biology or neurology or learning “disorders” or communication or tough women or moms or relatives who don’t give up ever or teachers who make the difference, WATCH THIS MOVIE.

I saw it OnDemand on cable. I never re-watch movies, but I’ll be doing that today with the Boy.

I actually just thought about this movie and her squeeze machine, just now when I saw this (great post). See the movie, get the book- this woman is an inspiration on many levels.

Excellent book and movie I read Thinking In Pictures, it has helped me to understand my thought processes better. I can relate to most of what she was experiencing. Growing up as kid I did not feel like I fit in when I would explain things in the detail that I would just be describing from the 3D rendering I could see in my mind but friends and family would mock or make fun of this so I thought there was something wrong with me especially when I could recall the pages of books I read while describing what I was speaking about . I always thought everyone can do that. Thinking In Pictures has helped me to figure out complex mechanical and biological systems that interest me. Like Temple I struggled with math because numbers were hard for me to picture as a visual image rendering. I am better at this now.

My nephew is autistic and has very similar characteristics and mannerism that I exhibited, except I had better speech and social skills. Now at 12 years old he is developing and his autistic tendencies are diminishing little by little. He has an amazing visual mind he can build the complete Tappen Zee bridge out of popsicle sticks, Legos, and Lincoln logs, he even makes the flags atop the main support towers, using thin sheets of toilet paper, very remarkable.  Though there are varying degrees of it, she is actual proof that with the right encouragement and education they can be of great value to society with there innate gifts, where as they are able to learn and adapt to the “normalized” behaviors and perceptions, most people can never be taught or trained to see the world as they do.

Temple has opened doors and continues to advocate for many people with autism.

Healing Old Wounds

Have you ever reconnected with someone and it just made you feel better and more at peace with yourself. Reconnect and communicate your inner thoughts and feelings to a friend or confidant, someone who will not judge you or tell you what to do but allow you to be yourself and guide yourself. Especially if that person is someone you love, admire and respect, just talking to them can help you heal old wounds from the past. Events or situations that you may be unconscious to the affect they have on you can be released and a greater understanding and clarity of yourself will unfold, what a great feeling to release your inner torments and mental blocks. We all should have a friend or confidant that understands and accepts us the way we are.  Just believing in someone and letting them know it with genuine sincerity can help them believe in themselves for their personal growth. We can elevate one another.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Edison the Genius. When asked how many times he failed to make the incandescent light bulb he said ” I successfully figured out over 10,000 ways the light bulb did not work” he understood the principles of perseverance to manifest his visions, that is why he is remembered today as one of the greatest inventors of all time.
I remember and use this quote daily especially when I have days like yesterday and today when everything goes wrong and all efforts seem fruitless and going nowhere, which are all signs of getting closer to the understanding of what will make my project work right all the time and be accepted in the mainstream. Imagine if Thomas Edison was around today and working on an invention like the light bulb and had a reporter, news crews, or interested sales people, or investors standing by every time he thought he had it and it was the 5th or 10th time he was close but just not there yet because he did not have the right combination of elements to make his tungsten mono filament bulb work. It did take over 10,000 successful failures to make it work, but had it have been known that he kept trying failure after failure he would have been deemed an insane dreamer who should just move on and forget about it, or maybe even a delusional junk scientist. That is why we should never give up or go against our gut feelings, where would Edison be remembered in history had he done so?

Today it was a good Day!

  • Nothing went well on anything we worked on, it seemed that all of our efforts were fruitless. Over tired. Everything was fighting us, all that we learned was how not to accomplish what we wanted to get done. Everything was a mess nothing worked right, one problem led to another and another, nobody got hurt, thats a plus, we did move an inch forward and 2 feet back, our budget is down to nothing, not sure when the next paycheck is coming or if the investors are going to pull through, but over all Today it was a Good Day! Thanks for your all your positive thoughts.                Ben

Happiness the final object of all human effort

Happiness, the final object of all human effort, is a state of mind that can be maintained only through the hope of future achievement. Happiness lies always in the future and never in the past. The happy person is the one who dreams of heights of achievement that are yet unattained. The home you intend to own, the money you intend to earn and place in the bank, the trip you intend to take when you can afford it, the’ Position in life you intend to fill when you have prepared yourself, and the preparation, itself-these are the things that produce happiness. Likewise, these are the materials out of which your definite chief aim is formed; these are the things over which you may become enthusiastic, no matter what your present station in life may be.     Napoleon Hill

Passion X Desire = ___________________

It is only when passion and desire intersect that common men can achieve uncommon endeavors. Ridiculed for their beliefs and mocked for their aberrant behavior, the common man with uncommon endeavors strides forward with undaunted tenacity and silent perseverance. He holds it inside until it permeates and resonates in every cell of his being. The eruption of energy is so great that even the less spiritually sensitive cannot ignore this ora. Locked in a world of mediocrity through his own admission the common man is reluctant to break free of the chains that bind his progression. This is a direct result of being unable to deal with or consciously be aware of what impedes him from taking action. It is only with true honest objective reasoning, logic, in depth understanding of himself and the desire for self advancement, that the chains that bind him will be released.

It is only when passion and desire intersect that common men can achieve uncommon endeavors. F.E.R.

FuckyeahTesla!!  woowooo!

Tesla one of the greatest genius minds who ever lived. Next time you turn on a light switch, or plug in your blender to make frozen cocktails , or any AC electrical, or wireless device just know he is the true father of both of these modern conveniences and not the people who get the most credit for them.

Aphorisms of the Day.

In Life among those who succeed from those who never will, shall be masters of their minds and not mastered by it.

The greatest obstacles that we will ever encounter are those created in our own minds. A positive determined mind backed by high desire, does not view an obstacle as a stalemate, but as a challenge that makes the pursuit of success more rewarding.

Patience, persistence, and definitiveness of purpose can triumph any adversity.

Fecal Bacteria Found In Nearly Half Of Fast Food Soda Fountains

secrets0ciety:

According to Tom Laskawy, a media and technology professional and blogger for grist.org, a team of microbiologists from Hollins University found that between 48% of sodas tested from the fast food fountains contain coliform bacteria, which is typically fecal in origin. And most bacteria found were antibiotic resistant.

The microbiologists published their findings in the International Journal of Food Microbiology. They tested 90 beverages from 30 soda fountains. Read the abstract for their study

And Yet another reason to not drink soda or to eat fast food.

Creation is dominated by three absolutely different factors: First, nature, which works upon us by its laws; second, the artist, who creates a spiritual contact with nature and his materials; third, the medium of expression through which the artist translates his inner world. Of those three components only one, the medium, is material.
